 "Hi my name is Barb of Barbsheartstrokes. I have been painting for about 17 years. When we moved from Las Vegas here to Utah I insisted on a room of my own. So I go the partially finished bedroom and a large unfinished area in the basement. In my room I have an area to paint, an area for books and supplies and I have the computer in this room too. (This helps me monitor my kids on the internet.) In the other room is where I store my frames, do a bit of light sanding and staple screen to the frames. Love my air compressor! This is also where I spray the finished artwork with a sealer. It is not pretty but it doesn’t matter if you spill paint on the floor here!" And now for the tour.

Organizing ---- Craft Room Feature, Mrs. Kwitty's Cottage

I have another craft room tour for you today.   This work space belongs to Karen of Mrs. Kwitty's Cottage.

"Hi,

I do a bit of different crafts: sewing, embroidery, stuffies, stamping, etc. but since having been diagnosed with cancer a couple years ago, mostly I've been doing a lot of paper crafting. Things that I can sit and do, and stop and start easily without too much prep time...you know, creating beautiful things is therapy. Soothes the soul and just makes you feel good.

I like to make tags, a little mixed media collage (especially if I can find a cool old frame or letter rack or box or something to do it in/on) and bookmarks. I love to read and bookmarks are fun to make and give and USE! I also love to make beautiful things for people and then really "do up" the package when I wrap it. A unique wrap with a cool tag makes me happy :o)

The things I do have a sweet cottage/shabby feel. Drawn to soft / retro colors and prints with vintage appeal.

Organizing ---- Craft Room Feature, Mona Rae Originals

We crafters like nothing more than to sneak a peak into other crafter's work rooms so I have a treat for you today.
You may find some neat ways to store your craft supplies in this new mini-series.

 I am featuring the craft room of Mona Rae. Here is an intro from Mona.

 Hi, my name is Mona Rae of Mona Rae Originals, I have been creating my work for over 30 years now. I design dolls through dreams and create quilts from a pile of fabric. Traveling to around 20 Art/Craft Shows a year selling on Facebook and Etsy and Website, the need for bolts of fabric are necessary, at last count it is now close to 1,000 bolts.
 I use only Moda Fabric which is top of the line quilting fabric. I have found that I can shake out a doll that has been in a container for a month or two and the wrinkles vanish. I constantly listen to my customers for the colors they like and want in their rooms. My Studio is my happy place where I can dance with fabric and create from my heart.
 My mission has always been to have my creations in as many homes as possible, each one has a story behind it, so when I look down from Heaven I can continue watching the story.

Welcome To My Studio --- Bette's Tomorrows Treasures

Today I thought I would take you for a tour through my studio so you can see where I spend a good portion of my day.

For many years I have taken over a part of the living area of my home and though it is pretty small, only 8 ft x 12 ft, I finally have a dedicated area to work in and I can close the door on the mess and no one else has to see the clutter.

As you come in the door, on the left is the closet area. I  added several shelves in the closet for fabric and keep the fabrics I use most often in here.   I have a shelf against the wall which has a pegboard behind it for my rulers to hang on.

Right next to the closet is my work table.   It is 6 ft wide but I had a big problem working on it because I always seemed to have piles of fabric in my way.   I recently added a long shoe shelf on top of it, against the wall and that has helped a lot with the fabric piles.   I  am now able to keep an area clean for cutting fabric and getting packages ready for the mail.

Under the work table I have several drawer towers for holding supplies and a small file cabinet for papers and patterns.  

To the right of the work table is my ironing station with another drawer tower.

Above this are shelves.   As you will see throughout my tour,   I have used every available space for supplies.

As you move towards the right,  this wall has the only window in the room.    In the corner of the other side of the room is my sewing station.    The table was a kitchen counter.   I made three wood pedestals for it to sit on.  

Under the sewing table I have some more stacking drawers.

And over one wall is my pegboard seen in an earlier organizing post.

As you continue along this wall I have more wall shelves.  

More drawers underneath them.   The colorful storage drawers hold all my printing papers and my postage scale sits on top of it.

And the final corner is my computer station.   I added shelves underneath the desk and small plastic drawers to the side of it hold more supplies.

I hope you enjoyed seeing where I work and write my posts for this blog.   It is still a work in progress as it is only half painted and needs flooring but I love my little space.

Welcome to my sewing room.   This is what you see as you open the door.

Check out this carpet.  I LOVE the heart and it was made for me – bought it from Ikea

Turn to your left and you see my cutting table 

Lets us take a closer look of the cutting table shall we?

The table is actually not a table at all but  2 Ikea Lack bookcases placed on their sides!

above this i have 2 Ikea Lack shelves 

and right next to this is where i keep my fabrics, the bookcase with the glass shelves stores my non craft books

and the plastic drawers i keep my work in progress projects

Then there is a big window in the middle of the room

the same one you were faced with upon entering and to the right of that is the Expedit Bookcase which I LOVE

and on the other side of this is my office

The L shape Galant ikea table is a great table for sewing on, plenty of space
