"Soup"er Saturday - Chicken Pot Pie

Okay, I know, Chicken Pot Pie is definitely not Soup but it sure is "super"!!! It is probably one of the best comfort foods I enjoy in the winter. Even though this recipe freezes well, it never does seem to make it there. Maria and Josh at Two Peas and Their Pod posted this awesome recipe with lots of yummy pictures! For the recipe, simply click on the photo above. This is definitely a must make AGAIN!

Needles-n-Pins Stitcheries: Vintage Valentine's

With Valentine's Day next week I thought we would take a look at some vintage Valentine's and see what Valentine's Day was back in the past. Let's go on over to Etsy and see what we can find. :)

I am sure all of you, well the one's in my era and I am not going to tell you how long ago that was. LOL! We use to give Valentine's cards to our classmates. We would get a shoe box with a lid and cut a hole in the lid and decorate the box. Then on Valentine's Day at school we would have our shoe boxes on our desks and all the students would go around the room and put Valentine's cards just like the one here from bostonbaglady in the boxes. That was always fun. Do they still do this nowadays?

I remember getting little candies, sometimes chocolate, sometimes those little hearts with the sayings on them in these little tins like the one from TheLittleThingsVin here. :)

If you had a Valentine's Day party at your house you might have had a decoration like this one from ChristineMsCreations has.

Ok....now I am going to age myself. We always made Valentine's sugar cookies and my mom actually had a cutter just like this one from StripedKat except we had a red handle on it. And you aren't going to believe this, but I still have it and I still make cookies with it for my grandkids!! :)

So this is a few of the vintage items that is out there for you to see or even purchase to do some decorating or cookie baking. :)

Have a good week!

Colleen :)
