So for all the quilters out there do you struggle with trying to figure out how many strips of fabric to cut to get the number of blocks that you need for the quilt you are making? Well if you do......look what I found.....a free calculator for figuring this out. Check out Block Central to see the calculator's that they have. Could save you some "calculating" time. :)
Happy quilting!

Needles-n-Pins Stitcheries: Back To School Recycled
I don't know about your neck of the woods, but around here school started this week. Wow what a short summer! They seem to just get shorter and shorter don't they.
A tradition of going back to school is the back to school shopping. And from what I remember it can be quite an expedition! LOL! :) Being that said.....I was thinking of what back to school items could be found in the "recyled" world so I went to Etsy to give it a look and thought I would share a few items I found over there.....
First all girls need a new bag for school so how about this recycled denim jean bag that Sisoibags has. Pretty neat way to recycle those old worn out jeans.
I know that a lot of the school work is done on computers and iPads, but sometime you need just an old fashioned notebook and Pinoodles has this one that is made with recycled paper which is always a good thing.
So....do they still use pen and pencils? Shows you how long I have been out of the back to school arena. Ha!Ha!. :) Well if they do how about using this recycled pencil bag from jool. I like the camouflage fabric this is made from.
Ok...enough nostalgia......on to the modern....I know just about everyone has an iPad for school (or at least my grandkids do) so here is a great idea for a cover for that iPad from a recycled product that Rebound Designs has. I guess if you don't have the encyclopedia you can at least have the cover. :)
I was kind of amazed at the amount of different recycled items I found that had to do with school. I am sure there are lots of them and this is just showing you a few.
