Organizing with Marilyn Bohn

While doing research for another post here at www.byyourhands.com, I stumbled across a lady who seems to have it all together when it comes to organizing and keeping down the clutter.

Marilyn Bohn has a full website and blog, but one of the most favorite things I found on her website are her videos. Marilyn explains various techniques for de-cluttering and organizing and shows us step by step how to do it.

Not only does she have videos on her website, but she also has a youtube.com channel called CreativeOrganizer.

Below you'll find a great video about Organizing Fabric. Watch how easy she makes it look to fold fabric!

There's a wealth of information to be found at www.marilynbohn.com I hope you like the link as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I spent three days about 1 1/2 yrs ago refolding every piece of fabric in my sewing room exactly the way she explained. It really does save a HUGE amount of space. I used to store my fabric using the cardboard 'bolts' that I got from JoAnn Fabrics since they toss them out anyway. When I pulled my first stack of fabrics on the bolt from my shelving hubby built in my closet I grabbed nine bolts. Once I was done refolding that way, the fabrics off those 9 bolts took up less than half the height of the empty bolts and 1/3 the length of them. I was amazed. When completely done my shelves had tons of space on them with no fabric at all. I just HAD to go buy more. We just can't have empty spots in our sewing rooms now, can we? LOL

If you don't like how your fabrics are stored, then I totally think you'd be thrilled if you just took the time to do this too.
