Needles-n-Pins Stitcheries: Sewing Rulers

I am quilter at heart and I have used just a few rulers in my quilting journey, but lately I have been seeing so many new and different kinds of quilting rulers that I actually have purchased a few new one's and man-oh-man has it made the cutting processes much easier! There is a ruler out there to do any cut you need for your quilt fabric. I found this article on all the different rulers from Heather at the Sewing Loft Blog. She shows us a few of the rulers on the market. I actually just bought a 60 degree ruler for octagon piecing and it is just wonderful! :)

Happy quilting!

Needles-n-Pins Stitcheries: Grip That Ruler

When you are cutting out fabric does your ruler slide all over the place? Mine did, but then I read about Invisi-Grip by Omnigrid.

I was skeptical at first until I put it on my rulers and what a difference it made. No more pushing so hard on the ruler to keep it in place. Here is how you add it to your rulers.

Unroll Invisi-Grip onto your rotary cutting mat with Invisi-Grip facing up.

Position ruler over Invisi-Grip and rotary cut approximately 1/4 inch smaller than the size of your ruler.

Peel off paper backing and apply to the under side of your ruler.

Press out any wrinkles and whalla.......you have a ruler that will grip the fabric better.

I really like it and it does help quite a bit. Saves on the muscle power that is for sure. :)
