Needles-n-Pins Stitcheries: Preserving Fall Leaves Video
Well fall is definitely upon us up here in the north country and I am thinking a lot of you are starting to get some leaf color also. I know that certain parts of the country have gorgeous colors of leaves in the fall and I wish I had those up here. We do get a lot of pretty ground color, but the leaves are mostly yellow and gold.
Now...for those of you that have all those pretty leaves and would like to learn how to preserve them for fall decorating I found this video from Frank Knowles to show you. I am a visual person so I always like videos to show me how to do things.
Maybe I could use this technique on some of the ground leaves we have. I think it would work with the crimson fireweed we have. Hope this video helps you with your leaf preserving. :)
Happy crafting!
Colleen :)

Tuesday Tutorial - Preserving Fall Leaves
Don't you just love the colors of fall. It seems like this time of year the kids are always collecting leaves for projects or maybe even just for fun. Some of the leaves are pretty enough to decorate with as well. Here are a few tips to preserve some of those pretty leaves so the last just a while longer.
The authors at budgetwisehome.com tells us how to preserve leaves with an iron and wax paper.
At gardening.about.com they are showing us how to preserve leaves with glycerin.
This last one is a really clever idea. Iron the leaves flat and dip them in wax. This is a really great tutorial. You can find it at, niagaranovice.blogspot.com
With all these ideas we'll all be able to enjoy the colors of fall a little while longer.
Thanks for joining us today!
