NEEDLES-N-PINS STITCHERIES: TUTORIAL - MINI QUILT POT HOLDERS-PART 1

I didn't want this to be really long so I decided to break the tutorial down into two parts. This is part one. :)

When I started making pot holders for my business I couldn't quite figure out how I wanted to make them. I finally decided that since I love to quilt I would make them like little quilts.

sewing

Some of the one's I make I just fussy cut the picture from the fabric. Usually the center is cut in a 6 inch square. When completed this will give you an approximately 8 inch pot holder.

You will need to cut four strips 2 1/2 inches by 6 inches. These will go on the sides of the middle fabric.

Next cut four 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 blocks. These will go on the ends of the 6 inch strips.

Now sew the strips with the blocks on them to the middle section. This will give you the finished top of the pot holders.

That takes care of the top of the pot holder. Next time I will show you how I finish it into a pot holder. Thanks for joining me and see you next time.

Have a great week!
